Remembrance amidst the storm.

‘ They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.’

These poignant and powerful words, read by Warden Malcolm Davies, rang out in St Andrew’s on Sunday to a background of raging thunder, lightning and torrential rain. An evocative backdrop to this solemn occasion.

Wreaths were laid by John Brown, David Birt, Warden Jacqueline McIntyre and visitor Liz Hounsell.

Sadly, the Royal British Legion Remembrance Parade at the old British Cemetery had to be cancelled due to the weather, but the RBL nevertheless held a 2 minute silence at the Cemetery.

Remembrance Sunday – 10th November

Our Sunday Service on November 10th will include the Act of Remembrance with 2 minutes’ silence. The point at which this takes place will be announced at the start of the service.

The Royal British Legion Remembrance Ceremony will take place at the Old British Cemetery at 12 noon.
